Why enterprises are migrating to the Cloud from on-premises?

INTRODUCTION

Nowadays the demand for a cloud platform is higher, but why? Why many enterprises are migrating to the cloud rather than on-premises. Does a cloud platform have more benefits than on-premise? For understanding this first, we have to learn about what is cloud and what is an on-premises platform.

What is on-premises?

Every company has to record the data of its day-to-day activities. For recording transactions and a lot more data and for storing that data every company needs a system to record it. That’s why they have to buy new computers and also the employees for maintaining it and also need the space to keep those systems. This type of system for recording data is called an on-premises platform.

What is cloud

We have understood before that every company needs space for recording its data. And for recording the data they have to buy new systems but now the cloud platform has made it easy for companies to record it. The cloud platform is the platform where any company can take the space on rent for recording its data instead of buying its own computer. And those systems are maintained by someone else. Cloud computing works on the basis of the pay-as-you-go model. It means businesses just have to pay for the space they are using. It saves the operational cost of business. There are many platforms that offer cloud services like AWS cloud services, Google Cloud Services, etc.

Benefits of migrating to the cloud from on-premises to cloud

Cost Savings: cloud computing eliminates the difficulty and expense of maintaining and

upgrading computer hardware and software.

Security: Cloud IT service providers actually provide higher levels of security and data integrity.

Connectivity & Accessibility: cloud services enable you to make data available from anywhere,

anytime you need it. Instead of being tied to a location or specific device, people can access data

from anywhere in the world.

Reduced Risk of Data Loss: the cloud service providers keep your data and maintain it with the

the help of highly experienced employees and at a highly secured place that’s why the risk of data

loss

gets reduced.

Improved Efficiency: these cloud platforms run without getting lag that’s why the efficiency of

work improves.

Conclusion

There are many benefits of using the cloud. Cloud platforms are cost-effective, secure, and

highly accessible. Hence, we can understand, why many enterprises are migrating from

on-premises to the cloud platform.
